toggle navigation home about us get involved news events extras shop login #bloodbikes registered charity: 1138889 office: 0300 800 0105 welcome are a team of volunteers who are dedicated to providing a 24hrs a day, 7 days a week service supporting our nhs in delivering essential blood supplies for the purposes of transfusion, blood samples for the purposes of testing, organs and human tissue samples for the purposes of transplant, medication direct to the patient at home in the case of urgent need and donor breast milk (which also comes under the human tissue act) to the neonatal intensive care units throughout devon. occasionally we are obliged to go further afield to support the patients in the hours of crisis. more recently, we started transporting life saving blood products direct to air ambulances. carry out this vital service to the devon air ambulance trust and the dorset & somerset air ambulance trust. last year alone, dsaa saved over 30 lives with on scene blood transfusions and we as a charity are honoured to assist our colleagues in these great charities. in order to assess the real value of this free service you may like to read felix’s story, a testimonial voluntarily supplied. this team is ably supported by a network of volunteers providing call centre and all of our volunteers provide essential fundraising support. our annual budget is £250,000 which is essential in maintaining the fleet of 11 bikes and 8 emergency all terrain vehicles to the highest possible standards together with our modest hq costs. consequently, the fundraising volunteers are an essential part of the team, and we are currently recruiting new team members!
